Weekly Favorites 08/03/2017

This week’s weekly favorites is dedicated to all the ladies out there for International Women’s Day! Since moving to Italy, I’ve noticed that the 8th of March here is much more widely celebrated than in the US, compared to Mother’s Day that’s more popular at home. Women’s Day here feels much more about girl power, feminism and general appreciation for women instead of a focus on moms (not that Mother’s Day should go ignored!)

But spending the day in a culture where women are celebrated with baked goods, memes from moms and with guys giving their special ladies flowers is a great feeling. Who says you need to be a mom to be appreciated for all of your hard work!

So in light of that, thank you to all the amazing women in my life who support me and this blog every week. For every retweet from my mom, comment from my Nina, long Facebook message of praise from Grandma or pasta post inspiration from my boyfriend’s Italian mamma, you’re what keeps me going.
